Installation
Metal roof panels can be installed with either exposed fasteners that are color-matched to the panels or hidden fasteners. Exposed fastener systems are a popular high performance and cost-effective option; however, because the fasteners are exposed to the elements and the suns’ UV rays, they require maintenance over the years as the neoprene washers under the screw head will begin to fail. In most cases, we recommend a standing seam roof system that uses hidden fasteners—they don’t require neoprene washers, which can wear out over time. They allow for better thermal movement, protecting the roof’s integrity against temperature changes and keeping it weathertight as it ages.
